Sacred Soul Records was founded by two guys out in the middle of nowhere
in Mid-Missouri by the name of Bryan Young and Jeff Schoby. Living out
in the middle of nowhere takes it's toll on people, and as such, turned
Bryan and Jeff into two very bored and warped individuals. Being childhood chums, ever since Kindergarten, Bryan and Jeff have not only been able to be very warped and bored on their own, but they've been able to hone their boredom and warped minds into something greater than the sum of their parts. Back in 1992, whilst diving into the deep yawning chasm that -is- College and thusly becoming even MORE warped and bored than they already were, they met a Mr. Randy Melick. Randy, who at the time was working at Instrumental Influence, Inc. at Sedalia, Missouri (*free plug*), was also teaching guitar. As Bryan and Jeff had become SO bored and warped to the point of wanting to learn how to -play- the guitar, this was indeed an opportune chance meeting, as Randy was just as warped and bored (or perhaps moreso as he is older than Bryan and Jeff) as Bryan and Jeff. (Wow..how's that for a run-on/mangled sentence structure...our H.S. English teacher would be proud.) Well, as Randy and Bryan and Jeff got to know each other and become good friends, they all learned the love for the Lord and Music that they all shared. As time went on, the idea of a recording studio that they could call their own was born. Many long and arduous years followed, including Bryan and Jeff's futile, but enlightening attempt to make it in the 'real world' being overworked and underpaid and being very very grumpy and hating their jobs. Finally, after being sick of where they were and not getting anywhere, Bryan and Jeff decided they'd had enough and that there were too many local artists who weren't getting enough recognition and didn't really have a place to do their recording projects here in Mid-Missouri.... ..............and a dream was made into reality.... Sacred Soul Records is commited to bringing the highest quality and most reasonably priced recording services to Mid-Missouri and help lesser known artists, in Missouri and beyond, get the recognition and exposure their wonderful talents deserve. You never know what beautiful music and performances you might be missing.
